TheLadyEve: This looks good, but just call it baked chicken! As in shake and bake.
InactiveBeef: Sorry everyone! The folks over at Tasty committed the egregious crime of calling this fried chicken. I didn’t come up with the name for this recipe otherwise I would definitely call it *baked* chicken, or maybe something more creative. Don’t shoot the messenger!

**Ingredients**
For 4 servings:
* 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
* 1 cup buttermilk (sub. low-fat buttermilk)
* ¼ cup sriracha sauce
* 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* ½ teaspoon salt
* ¼ teaspoon black pepper
* 1 teaspoon paprika
* ½ teaspoon seasoning salt
* ½ teaspoon seasoning salt
**Preparation**
1.) On a cutting board, slice each chicken breast into strips.
2.) In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and Sriracha and mix to combine. Add the chicken strips and submerge in the buttermilk mixture. Cover with plastic wrap. Or toss all of the ingredients into a resealable bag. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
3.) Preheat oven to 425˚F (220˚C).
4.) In a shallow dish, add the Panko, flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and seasoning salt and mix to combine.
5.) Dip the chicken strips in the panko mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
6.) Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and brush with canola oil.
7.) Transfer the chicken to the baking sheet, and bake for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken over, and bake for an additional 10 minutes. If desired, broil for 2-3 minutes to crisp up at the end.
8.) Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to remove extra grease.
9.) Enjoy!
NotTheRightAnswer: Don’t really care for Sriracha. I’m guessing something like Frank’s Red Hot would be an acceptable substitute?
Gingercreeper: no. Oven frying isnt a thing. Unless you wanna put a giant pan of oil in the oven, heat it up to frying temp and throwing in the chicken. that would be interesting (and dangerous probably).
I know you didnt come up with the title, its just a petpeeve. Whats so wrong with just saying Baked Sriracha Breaded Chicken?
Stahltur: I’ve heard adding baking powder to the dredge gets you a crisper coating when doing this – similar to double-fried wings. I can’t swear to it actually working though. It’s something from Serious Eats that I’ve not had a chance to road test yet.
GrumpyOlBastard: Not somehow using a bbq as an oven? That’s an upvote
kiwifulla64: lol oven-fried. Still though, yummy.
Ceilibeag: I always tenderize the chicken with a mallet
Also; what’s the dipping sauce?
cliffhucks: Looks good! How spicy does it come out to be? I feel like I would, personally, use more sriracha. Either way I’ll probably try it
itstinkskid: OP needs 30 lashes for labeling this as frying.
Exemus: where can I get myself one of them sriracha ovens?
UndiscoveredSounds: Wow!
Repticalion: Nice, I’m gonna try this
Vidar34: Frying is done in fat, not air. This is baked chicken. Nothing wrong with baking stuff, just don’t call it frying.
“Oven frying” would only be a thing if you somehow managed to fill your entire oven with 180^o Celsius cooking oil, and somehow, I doubt you managed that.
vandelayindustries9: Has anyone tried this healthier with almost milk or soy milk? Would that work?
