Pitta_: guys brussels sprouts aren’t awful, i promise!! if you cook them properly they’re not sulphur-y satan balls, they’re light and crispy-tender and delicious!!!
i also hated brussels sprouts growing up as a kid because my mom was an awful cook. properly prepared brussels sprouts can be very tasty!
huntcookgrrl: Looks delicious! Saved for my holiday cooking plans. The chives and bacon at the end seemed a little heavy handed though. I’d probably skip the chives and just sprinkle a little bacon for garnish.
jh_gerbil: Way too much parmesan. That is not a cheese you need that much of. Learn to appreciate the veggies.
HoodstarProtege: Bacon should be somewhere in the title.
Anorthia: Also known as: Disguising Brussel Sprouts With Extra Bacon.
Pluto_Is_A_Planet17: If a recipe both starts and finishes with bacon, does it even count as vegetables anymore?
Flash_252: I dont understand why all these videos show people putting cheese in their cast iron skillets. I gotta clean it afterwards
acowsezmoo: 1. Fry bacon and set aside.
2. Fry minced garlic and set aside.
3. Cut up Brussel sprouts, put in water for a bit, take them out and fry them for a few minutes.
4. Add precooked chestnuts. Let cook on medium heat.
5. Add a bit of lemon juice, salt, pepper and a few junipers.
6. Add the fried bacon and garlic.
No need for cheese. There doesn’t always have to be cheese.
Oh, and don’t eat the junipers!
Edit: typo
kitaxhakuu: This looks amazing! Will try this weekend. Thank you for the awesome recipe!
sammer003: title should have BACON in it! 🙂

**Ingredients**
For 6 servings:
* 2 lb. brussels sprouts, halved
* 8 strips bacon, chopped
* 2 teaspoons salt
* ½ teaspoon pepper
* â…“ cup apple cider vinegar
* 1 tablespoon brown sugar
* 5 cloves garlic, minced
* Fresh chive, chopped, to serve
**Preparation**
1.) Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
2.) Cook bacon in a cast iron pan over medium heat. Once bacon fat coats the pan, add the Brussels sprouts, salt, pepper, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic. Stir until fully coated.
3.) Cook until the bottom of the Brussel sprouts begin to brown on the bottom.
4.) Transfer the cast iron pan to the oven and roast for 20 minutes, or until tender, flipping the brussel sprouts over every 5 minutes or so.
5.) Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over the Brussels sprouts, then place the pan back in the oven and bake for other 3 to 5 minutes.
6.) Sprinkle with additional bacon and chives then serve.
7.) Enjoy!
allurmemesrbelong2me: That’s an interesting mix of flavors… I’m intrigued
glazedlikeadonut: What’s the purpose of apple cider vinegar? Added flavor?
InstagramLincoln: We make roasted brussel sprouts all of the time, but we usually start from raw. Is there any advantage to cooking partially on the stove first?
jorsiem: Is the brown sugar crucial? This is a good LCHF recipe if I left it out.
DanEv1985: I’ve never been a huge fan of sprouts, I despised my parents for putting them on my plate despite my protests when I was younger.
But what isn’t there to like here? It has cheese and bacon on them!
(Chorizo also works extremely well with sprouts).
01kittywings: Brussel sprouts with bacon and maple syrup are delicious.. tempted to try the garlic parmesan
fightknockers: Those are extremely overcooked and likely quite soggy. Vegetables should not be a dull army green.
GuerrillaApe: Boil the brussel sprouts 5 minutes and then pat them dry before frying them on a skillet to cook them more evenly and to hide that nasty raw brussel sprout taste.
lordcarnivore: I can’t get over the shape of the pan. What’s going on there?
Edit: hot plate… don’t know how I missed this. Thanks!
IamGrimReefer: it doesn’t matter how the brussel sprouts are cooked, after i eat about 5 of them they start to taste bad. but i love the first 4-5.
