I ordered some mcdonalds sausage burritos at 5 am this morning, it is now 3:30 pm. They’ve been in my backpack in my bedroom at room temperature that whole time… Are they safe to eat?
Ralph_Malfredsson: Almost definitely still good imo. Sausage + cooked eggs + bread would be unlikely to harbour anything unless the original eggs were contaminated. But whether to risk it is a personal decision.
wdcheens: There’s plenty of preservative in that bureet. You’re fine.
samtravis: I take them in backpacking trips and they last at least 2 whole days unrefrigerated.
panicked228: Just because someone ate one once and didn’t get sick doesn’t mean it’s safe to eat. I’ve taken several good handlers classes and I absolutely wouldn’t risk something with meat, eggs, and cheese that’s been left out all day.

This came into my mind.
CashedSX: I wouldn’t simply because it would probably be disgusting taste and texture wise
jahnbodah: with my experience with McDonald’s burritos, about 10 minutes from the time you get them, after that the tortilla starts getting hard. they wont make you sick or anything, they just aren’t very appetizing.
ProPhotography: I wouldn’t
erikmonbillsfon: I wouldn’t but I’ve seen coworkers eat a half a breakfast sandwich from them that was over a day old.
gh_s7: i’ve eaten one three days later that sat out on the breakroom table (in the wrapper & paper bag) and it was ok, taste AND safety-wise.
I bought two double cheeseburgers on Sunday, ate one right then, and ate the other one that I left in my car the following Thursday… the edges were dry but the middle part with the ketchup & pickles was delicious!!
it had been in the florida heat, once again fully wrapped & bagged, but i didn’t get sick!!!
