– 1 gram (1/8 tsp)Pinch of salt
– 1 Egg
– 200ml (4/5 cup) milk
– 20 grams (2 tbsp) melted butter [1 tbsp for making the dough and another for coating]
– 1 medium-sized banana
—
1. Heat the butter in a pan and set aside
2. In a bowl add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar
3. Now pour milk, melted butter from the pan, and an egg
4. Whisk until contents just come together
5. To make cinnamon sugar, add cinnamon in a cup, then add sugar and stir them together with a spoon
6. Heat pan to medium heat and add pancake batter. Add sliced banana and cinnamon sugar mixture. Then add butter and flip.
7. Let the sugar caramelize on the surface for a minute and you’re done!
DRJT: >If you add cinnamon sugar and butter to the top a pancake before flipping it will caramelize sugar directly onto the surface.
That might be the best pro-tip I’ve ever heard! I might finally get round to making some American pancakes
byoung82: Man these are some funky measurements. 4/5 cup of milk. What is an imperial/metric egg? Is that different then a normal chicken egg?
Knitapeace: Would this require a nonstick pan? I’m just imagining trying it and having the pancake cemented to my stainless steel.
nsfy33: I make something that is along the same lines, but the cinnamon-banana is a topping.
Basically make regular pancakes. Then in a separate pan melt some butter, add sliced bananas, cinnamon and a little sugar. It it cook down and use it to top the pancakes.
NotSharinMyBestJokes: Hmm I still want to use syrup, so I would sprinkle half that amount of cinnamon/sugar.
