Rich0323: If you want to deep fry desserts use funnel cake batter.
kidajske: The cake layer doesn’t even look crispy. What’s the point?
JohnnyHighGround: Me, watching this: I swear to fucking god if they put this on a charcoal grill I’m unsubscribing.
t_andscones: Where I work, deep fried ice cream is covered in honey bunches of oats!! Flakey and delicious.
pperk37: I thought this was gonna be unhealthy but then they added a couple slices strawberries at the end. Whew!
allurmemesrbelong2me: Watching this makes the salad I had planned for dinner sound deeply unsatisfying.
Ekwasverkeerd: No cinnamon? Cornflakes? Drizzle?
TheLadyEve: Wow, I’ve never seen this done with cake–and I admit I’m a little dubious. Doesn’t it soak up all the oil? It looks like it doesn’t get very crisp, but that could be the short frying time?
I had a version made with cornflakes once, which sounds pedestrian but it was actually really good. And very crispy.
kramjr: Well that turned out pretty terrible.
PepparoniPony: It’s not even crispy and the cake looks super saturated with oil…
MajorTomTGC: After the batter, dip balls in Panko crumbs, freeze again, then fry. Nice crispy outside, presentation is much better.
smg80: NO NO NO NO. I work at Los Tres Amigos, look it up. Walmart brand “honey bunches of oats” crushed, coconut flakes, ice cream from a freezer set a few degrees too cold. Roll it up, fry it up, smoke it up inhale exhale
Bestialman: Step one : take ice cream out of freezer
Step 2 : make ice cream ball
Step 3 : put it back in the freezer
Step 4 : take them out to put on cake layer
…wat. Why not just put the ice cream ball on the cake?
Axelrad: This kills the strainer.
aboganza: just use corn flakes
notkenny91: Is this normal? Like is this a known thing? I’ve only lived in the US for 5 years now so I might be out of the loop but I know if it’s deep fried, it’s from here but I’ve never heard of deep fried ice cream before
AnotherCuriousHuman: I really like the idea of rolling it into pound cake. I just used captain crunch when I did it lol
KatagatCunt: This fucking Subreddit is so terrible for my diet…but its too damn good to unsubscribe from
nate800: So three slices of pound cake wrapped around a scoop of ice cream, then all deep fried? Good Lord
EXScarecroW: Done it a couple times before for work. Not worth it at all. You have to constantly fight with the ice cream to keep it from melting so you have to put it back and forth from the freezer to your work space. Just toast some corn flakes in a pan, or something crispy that you can lightly brown. Same effect honestly.
skankhu: The diabeetus is strong with this one.
OrphanedBatman: Can’t even see the paper towel anymore…
markmark27: The strawberries make it healthy
Firestorm7i: More like how to waste an hour and ruin some ice cream
a_calder: Is *everything* on this sub just super-high calorie food?
aab720: What if you used pancake batter instead of the flour mix?
Scienscatologist: Chi-Chi’s did it better:

_Ada_Lovelace_: *…pound cake???* Jesus take the wheel. What is this monstrosity?
FourTeensEightyEight: I was hooking up with an old flame up in Virginia, and we went to a Mexican restaurant. I ordered the “Deep Fried Ice Cream” for us for desert after a nice day sight seeing and sipping wine at a vineyard at the top of a mountain.
It ended up being ice cream rolled in rice crispies. And that was it.
Thank god the sex was good, because the ice cream was shit.
And I don’t even think a single Mexican was working in the restaurant.
Moses_The_Wise: Freeze the ice cream?
Isn’t it…already frozen?
water27buffalo: I thought it looked yummy!
MorwenIlse123: I tried making fried ice cream once as a teen and nearly set the house on fire.
jenyto: So, kem chiên?
ST00PKlD: Anyone have a gif for making pound cake, I’m too lazy to google it. In fact it would’ve been quicker.
sircheesy: Can also roll vanilla ice cream in crushed up pretzels, rice chex, cinnamon sugar, and dunk them for literally 1 second. They were pretty delicious.
Source: worked at a restaurant that served deep fried ice cream as such. We’d also serve them with either caramel, chocolate, or strawberry drizzle.
Decriam: So does anyone know if it tastes good
queue_together: Could this work with dairy free ice cream?
DementedGaming: How do save this?
coolniceokoh: Sorry, but this looks terrible. The dough seems undercooked and the ice cream somewhat hard.
belgiumwaffles: Anyone else feel fatter after just watching this?
alphaweiner: Is a reality
dr_t_123: EXPLAIN!
MalHeartsNutmeg: …why?
TheAdamMorrison: Do you freeze again after frying before serving?
Warpcrafter: That’s kinda like a meteorite. Its hundreds of degrees below zero and its trip through the atmosphere only heats a thin outside layer. The rest is still frozen hard when it hits.
five_chickens: Try it with tempura batter instead.
fyrmnsflam: Yuck. Need to coat with crushed cornflakes.
_XJuan: 🅱️eep 🅱️ried Ice 🅱️ream 😂😂😂😂
fluffykerfuffle1: this looks so delicious!!!
Ironically_Suicidal: My dumbass always thought they shoved ice cream into a deep fryer.
Koulyone: I know jujitsu!
walkswithwolfies: Needs more cheese.
99muppets: Hey, isn’t this the video from Tasty? I’m pretty sure it is. You might want to credit them.
KMcM28: Tried to scroll away but just couldn’t ignore the heading
BigDaddyD00d: Welcome to America
supremecheese: You can eliminate the entire first step of freezing the ice cream if you just scoop the ice cream directly from the carton into the poundcake
Pwnspoon: I thought you fried it in corn flakes? but what evs this looks D-lish
Fulgore_18: This is madness!!
Torgrow: [Fri-yi-yi-yi-ied-i-yi-yi-ice-cream](https://youtu.be/mxdvbojeCYg?t=12s) Someday in the future I’ll forget the street address of where I grew up, but that stupid jingle will play in my brain until the day I die.
Himalaysian: Is it ok to move now?
