Frosticus: How many grams are in a kilogram?
HappyHarpy: I’m 50 and just learned that a quart is called that becauae it’s1/4 of a gallon. Ugh. I hate American measurements.
I was raised in a metric country and moved back to the states in 6th grade. I was so upset about inches.
xZaggin: What bugs me the most is how this standard is still a thing for cooking. Sure if you want to measure distance and speed with the imperial system – go ahead.
But don’t come and tell me to add 4 cups of broccoli into a soup. You know how much that can vary? This pisses me off so much when logging food in MFP and the quantity options are straight up useless.
shanghai_on_sea: > 1 pint (475 ml)
Where’s the rest of the pint?
Sincerely,
The Empire
Sallymander: The one that bugs me is the conversion on Coffee makers are a pain in the ass. 6 oz = 1 cup.
thinkscout: Just use ml and g, much easier.
nwuekwknw: fuck baking with cup measurements
Scotteh95: “Gallons to litres is easy, you just need to multiply by 4.55 in your head” – Stubborn Americans
arialfox: Ever heard of metric?
smasters908: Since when is a fucking cup 240ml? Its fucking 250!
jazvecina: and im still using metric system like a fool
Herbwelshman: There’s 2,880 drops in a cup?
IamA_HoneyBadgerAMA: Oh man one of my dashes is like a couple of table spoons…
mdsandi: This cracks me up. This is the EXACT printout that was on the wall in the kitchen I️ used to work in.
61celebration3: How many drops in a dash?
ptitguillaume: I wonder why the non-metric system is still a thing ?
Were there any attempt to use the metric system ?
I’m sorry if it sounds offensive but the non-metric system seems so archaic.
fetusontoast: Updooting on my side-account because I always forget this…
stonedlemming: I was hoping it would have the number for a pizza place at the bottom – yay keto:
