spaceace321: That looks amazing! I know it wouldn’t be classic anymore but I’d probably add feta and caramelized onions
Charmed1184: ketchup??
It’s Australia, we call it tomato sauce!
Otherwise great recipe. Might have to pop down to O’Connell St for one this weekend!
Khanthulhu: At first I thought calling them Fires was a mistake, and then it was in the gif as well. I don’t know if I should make a joke or do additional research.
RoastedB33f_: Nothing says a night out in Adelaide than getting paro at HQ/Reds/Woolshed, then smashing one of these bad boys at 2am whilst trying to hold it all in.
CEO_OF_DOGECOIN: The story I was told when I visited Adelaide (lovely city!!) was that it stands for “Afterbirth”. Is that correct?
OP’s version is too beautiful for such a label to ring true, but I can see how it might make sense if the cook was less skilled!
CocaineWhispers: Haram AF
ButcherPetesMeats: Da fuck is chicken salt?
qozmiq: Ketchup? No way
Legendary_Heretic: Who tf puts ketchup on lamb!?
sjeffiesjeff: Kapsalon!
HollowLegMonk: This is similar to Carne Asada Fries.

The legend of the AB starts with the two takeaway stores next to each other in North Adelaide, Australia.
The “Red and White” and the “Blue and White” no one knows for sure which store created the AB but they both claim too.
Also what “AB” stands for it a much-debated topic.
This dish is similar to a halal snack Pack but differs with the use of Greek Gyros meat and garlic sauce.
Here’s the recipe for chicken salt: https://youtu.be/PNi0ITgqNCI

Cheers to everyone’s continuing support!
A few people mentioned I should start my own subreddit which will give people an easy place to find my recipe and also post photos of their creation.

DonTheJewelr: HSP no?
Naturescoldcut: They call that a Halal Snack Pack (HSP) in Melbourne.
boring_oneliner: >*high heat*
>*puts it in cold pan*
mycotopia2: Nice! To make it nore Greek I would add oregano, feta and add cucumber to the yoghurt.
boofbonzer81: Commenting because I have leftover lamb in the freezer, thank you.
Wallfullawafulls: r/ketchuphate
KommanderKitten: I’m all for cumin, but that was WAY more than a half teaspoon
EkimElcnu: I actually groaned out loud when I saw the ketchup being added.
communistbee: I was with it until they added the ketchup 😝
gakera: This Gif has 2320 upvotes, but the source YouTube video only has ~300 views.
Granted the voice is annoying and the text on screen makes it easier to follow. But this is freebooting at it’s worst.
Zambenis: Looks great! Glad you stuck with the actual recipe
utsBearclaw: Those fires are 🔥
Sexy_Koala_Juice: Or HSP in Perth.
peach_toad: Where I’m from, that’s a kebab. There’s about five or more kebab shops to every town/city here, and its usually the number one choice for 3am drunk food.
Moses_The_Wise: Is tzatzaki sauce just Greek yogurt with some sass? (Probably misspelled that)
patchyabp: It’s a HSP you Adelaide weirdos.
mrducky78: HSP 4 lyf buddy.
Halal snack packs are just superior. Only acceptable sauces are the holy trinity: garlic, chilli, barbeque. Tomato is haram lul
onenuthin: This is called “kapsalon” in Europe, in Netherlands at least.
scrote_inspector: You go to all that trouble just to ruin it with ketchup…
PlNKERTON: Ruined it with the ketchup. What is with people and ketchup?
kbcoch88: Definitely trying
fearghalicious: Put cheese on that bad boy and then we’re talking
Blubalz: Just a question regarding Greek food.
I’m a stupid American, but when I visited Greece, pretty much all of the food there I ate was pretty mild in terms of garlic.
Is it an American misconception that all Greek food needs to be bathed, rolled, and infused with many cloves? Or was I too drunk to realize while I was there that the food actually had a strong garlic flavor?
BriHen: I’m not from Australia, so I don’t know the true entities of this dish. However, I’m curious. Does the yogurt sauce call for dill? It’s basically a traditional tzatziki sauce without the cucumber and dill … Feel it’d be good with a traditional sauce as well.
_brainfog: Muther effin snack pack. Aw yiss
eudamme: This reminds me a lot of the kebabs we have in the UK
EnergingGenie87: Saving for later!!!
EnazAF: /u/Pickled_Apple_Sauce these look pretty good and easy. Save this. Add some feta cheese
kazak22: I mean I love you but How have you not had a heart attack
Dragon666666066: Numnums,. Now…try picturing where it is now?!
Chxo: If you’re gonna put in the effort to make fries at home, why wouldn’t you double fry them? Uses the same amount of oil, only takes a little more time and the end result is much better.
onephatkatt: So those are basically Lamb Fries??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DejWlekKQfI
Justheretobrowse9: Any one got a decent recipe for Chicken Salt; we don’t get it in the UK 🙁
Pleasant_Jim: Obligatory /r/doner plug.
Girlfromcloud9: This would be so good with donair meat!
Sassymewmew: When I took a trip through Greece there was a tiny gyro stand that had the best gyro I’ve ever had, it was 2 euros and was giant, and served like a cone with French fries on the inside. They also could put chicken on the inside which was just as good.
aynrandcap: Can this be done on the grill?
Obi_Wan_Kannoli: At first I was like, what, no chicken salt? Then I was, hungry, chicken salt!
C0wabungaaa: Can anyone explained to me why calling recipes “loaded” is so hip these days? I can’t wrap my head around it.
alxkczk: we’ve made it to reddit, what an honor
_brainfog: ITT: Gatekeeping. Don’t even bother.
ImpatientCheeseBurgr: Greeeeeeeeeeg
longleaf1: You tha man Greg
hewhowhat: You ruined a good recipe with ketchup and maio.
OniExpress: I don’t know why you’d want to ruin perfectly good meat on chips with *ketchup*.
I’d recommend different prep of the meat. Either slice it thinner, or use some skewers and a pineapple (or big onion, your choice) and make a small shawarma stack out of thin lamb steaks.
