fomorian: Wait, champagne’s fizziness comes from yeast??
I2ed3ye: Thank you for this! Didn’t realize it was that simple to make ginger beer.
anonymous_coward69: Huh. Always thought ginger beer was a type of soda, like root beer.
TheLadyEve: Ginger juice and simple syrup are also good basic additions to make a flavored vodka.
I like the look of this recipe and I’m going to try it–looks very simple. Is this actually going to be alcoholic at all? It’s not fermenting for long.
ghostphantom: Step 1: Get some beer
Step 2: Get some ginger
Step 3: Throw out the ginger and just have a beer
grosmichel: How fizzy would this be? I think I’ll try this!
JohnWColtrane: PSA: drink soon or put in very cold fridge, otherwise it will continue to ferment until alcohol, and then it can possibly explode.
TheFlavorLab: Awesome post, Thanks for Sharing!
tybr00ks1: I could only read like half of that text
jstock104: Commenting to come back later
cvanseveren: I just made this for the first time this evening with your recipe. My cheese cloth arrived today so I could start. Now I see your new post 😀. I hope the result will be good. I only used baking yeast in stead of champagne yeast. Saturday I will know.
jammy_figs: SAFETY NOTE!!! You should never ever make homemade soda in glass bottles (as they apparently do in this GIF). The amount of sugar in soda means continued fermentation might cause too much carbonation/pressure to build up and in turn cause the bottle to explode.
