ArvoAnimi: You can’t fool me man, those are empanadas, you’re doing it wrong. Kidding aside, we got a similar looking dish here in LATAM it’s simply amazing look the recipe out on Google: EMPANADAS. Won’t regret it.
deadlicious_cs: Ingredients:
3/4 Cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp Semolina
2 tbsp clarified butter
1 tbsp sugar
Water
For Stuffing
2 tbsp Raisins
2 tbsp Cashew Nuts (chopped)
2 tbsp Almonds (chopped)
2 tbsp pistachios (chopped)
2 tbsp khoya/mawa
Oil for deep frying
Method: –
1. In a bowl take the plain flour, semolina, clarified butter and mix everything well
2. Add water as required to make a soft dough and keep it covered with a cloth for about 20 minutes.
3. In a bowl, add khoya, pistachios, raisins, cashew nuts, almonds & mix everything well.
4. Roll the portion to make a not too thin puri and cut it with a ring.
5. Apply a little bit if water to the edges of the puri.
6. Take a tsp of the filling in the middle of the puri and stick the edges together
7. Press on the edge, fold it inside and tip that comes out press it again and fold it and keep continuing the process
8. Deep fry the gujiya in medium hot oil in low flame till golden brown
9. Cool it and ready to be served
