PM_ME_UR_ARGYLE: It takes like 15 minutes to make it the normal way 🙃
noahbrooksofficial: I have tried this recipe (similar) and the thing is Indian spices turn bitter when cooked for too long. Your slow cooker has to be down alllll the way for this to work, and I don’t recommend it if you have a regular old crock pot.
Everybody-dance-now: How does this compare to an Indian restaurant? I hate to say it, but it doesn’t look quite like the real thing. It’s so rich and delicious, there must be some dairy.
Screye: Yeah, don’t do this. It won’t come out good.
For starters, please no paprika.
blackmagic70: I mean there are obviously quite a lot of things in it which don’t make it a classic chicken tikka masala but aside from this, couple of things, isn’t it a bit odd to use smoked paprika as opposed to normal paprika?
Also I think I read that you should put garam masala in pretty close to the end because otherwise it just loses it’s flavour. The lack of cumin’s fairly disturbing as well.
slayinglies: Okay, this is not chicken tikka masala. 🤦🏽♂️
Source: Indian
snowingathebeach: I’m confused about the coconut milk!
Ghonoshyamdas: Please stop this madness! This is nowhere close to Chicken Tikka masala!
supersledger: Oh god. Coconut milk for a tikka masala? More like a kerala chicken curry
TheDragonUnborn: No no no no no! Sauce: am Indian, unlike this recipe
Dab_on_the_Devil: I’ve tried crock pot tikka masala before, it fuckin’ sucks. Marinade and broil your chicken folks, the quality is so much better it’s not even funny.
JohnnyHighGround: Here’s my Slow Cooker Tikka Masala recipe:
Get yourself like a pound and a half of frozen precooked “grilled” chicken strips. Throw that shit in a big baggie with this:
1 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 piece minced ginger (1″ long) (lol, just use the paste, Christ.)
Stick it in the fridge like overnight.
When you’re ready to kick shit, fire up your slow cooker to High and throw in:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, minced (lol, use the jarred stuff, it’s 2 tsp)
Let the butter melt and the garlic kinda start to cook as well as it can in a slow cooker. Then dump in your chicken and marinade and add this:
4 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon salt
2 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
You gotta stir that. Then, let it sit like three or four hours, whatever. Stir when you remember. About half an hour before serving, add this:
2 cup whipping cream
You gotta stir that too. You can leave the top off, or leave it on, it’s a fucking slow cooker, it’s not gonna reduce much. Might wanna stir once or twice more either way.
Put that shit out at a party with a big spoon and a small spoon. The small spoon is for people who want to eat it directly out of the slow cooker. You’re gonna have folks who want to eat it directly out of the slow cooker.
AudioAssassyn: “Leave uncovered for remaining cook time”
How much time is that? I’m over these lazy quick recipes that don’t even caption everything that needs to be done. I keep seeing “Bake at 450 degrees.”…. Okay, but 30 minutes? An hour? 2? That’s a step in the recipe worth mentioning.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that every one I’ve seen do that (this one included), looks like shit in the end anyway.
DJChickenTikkaMasala: I usually ask the same question on every chicken tikka masala post that I see. However, having watched this gif twice through, I can confidently say that this recipe does NOT spin spicy beats.
krossroad: It’s not important to have debate about Indian or Scottish dish, the important part is it’s Chicken Tikka, means roasting the marinated chicken, which is nowhere in the slow cooker!!!
saywhatwhatinthegut: Dubious.
Gunkspargle: You could just spend an hour or two making this on the stove top instead… or less time if you’re not as slow as me.
tiger1296: Think this is slightly simplified, I mean where are the spices?
reduser8: I think chicken tikka masala is cooked with yogurt… not coconut oil…
1leggeddog: I got a much easier recipe:
Add chicken to a large pan
Add chicken masala premade mix from the grocery store
Mix and cook.
Done.
ohnosevyn: This is shit.
NewUploader1: Original with recipe…

BabiesSmell: Sick of this “THIS ISN’T AUTHENTIC!” garbage. No shit slow cooker isn’t the authentic method. It’s a simple, probably still tasty take on it. Thanks OP.
SecretDragoon: There’s an Indian restaurant nearby and I’ve debated getting this dish many times. What does it taste like? I would assume the Milk makes it taste… different.

sawbones84: Throw your slow cooker in the garbage (or resell it). Get a pressure cooker and get an enameled dutch oven.
sneezing_sloth: Wait a minute! What about the rice? How?
JesusRasputin: Cook on high for 4 hours? Am I trying to make a Burned mess?

Hi great website! Does running a blog similar to this take
a massive amount work? I’ve absolutely no expertise in programming however I had been hoping
to start my own blog in the near future. Anyhow,
if you have any suggestions or tips for new blog owners
please share. I know this is off subject however I just had to ask.
Cheers!
