PhromDaPharcyde: Anyone try this before? Is it too sweet? Seems easy and could be fun to make..
samdah2: Does the fudge looks crystallized to anyone else?
EXScarecroW: Okay, had to look it up first. If someone wants to explain why I might be wrong go for it though. I don’t make fudge, personally I hate it. I am curious about this recipe though. Anyways, apparently you can make fudge out of sweetened condensed milk. So I imagine instead of dealing with boiling milk / sugar and potentially messing something up you can probably just used sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter? Add some powder sugar if it’s not thick enough. Plus I imagine it will be more true to the buckeye taste. I’d salt the shit out of the mix too considering I think desserts that are salty / sweet are way better when you have that balance. Or use some high % cocoa for less sweetness.
SasserMaster: I had to restart the gif three times because I just stopped paying attention and was thinking “holy shit, I’ve missed a critical plot device”

**Buckeye Fudge**
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes
**Ingredients:**
Peanut Butter Layer:
* 2 cups granulated sugar
* ½ cup milk
* ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
* ¼ teaspoon salt
* 1 cup creamy peanut butter
Chocolate Layer:
* 1 ½ cup dark chocolate chips
* 7 ounces (½ of a 14 oz can) sweetened condensed milk
Topping:
* ½ cup salted, roasted peanuts, chopped
**Directions:**
1. Line an 8-by-8-inch or a 9-by-9-inch pan with wax paper.
1. In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and milk. Stir just until the sugar is incorporated into the milk.
1. Heat the milk mixture over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil. Add the vanilla extract and salt. Cook, without stirring, for 2-½ minutes, or until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage of 235 degrees Fahrenheit (115 degrees Celsius). Remove the pot from the heat.
1. Add the creamy peanut butter to the mixture. Beat the mixture with a wooden spoon for a minute or two, just until the peanut butter is melted and mixed throughout.
1. Quickly pour the peanut butter fudge mixture into the prepared pan in an even layer and smooth out the top.
1. Place the dark chocolate chips and the sweetened condensed milk in a large, microwave-safe bowl.
1. Microwave the mixture in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted. This step may take up to 90 seconds, or a little more, depending on the microwave.
1. Pour the chocolate fudge layer evenly over the peanut butter fudge layer.
1. Immediately top the chocolate fudge with the chopped peanuts.
1. Allow the fudge to sit for at least two hours, until it has set and cooled completely.
allurmemesrbelong2me: Man, screw Ohio state.
Arbitrary_Cleverness: Oh my God I’ve never seen anyone outside Ohio know what a buckeye is. My inner fat kid would go so hard on this fudge
toxies: That fudge looks more like tablet. Fudge should be smooth and creamy, not grainy!
mcfeezie: Eat 1: yum!
Eat 2: DIABEETUS!
Essar: No wonder fudge is so disgustingly sweet.
