Aimssi: I just have to ask, how is that aioli?
OsStrohsAndBohs: As a Marylander, there’s too much random shit in these (cheese??) and not nearly enough Old Bay, although I’m glad you’re at least using Old Bay.
Auronp87: I’m not the biggest fan of crab cake, but I’m 90% sure there’s no cheese!
SSBM_DangGan: Seems like a lot of cheese in something that probably shouldn’t have any but I like the idea
SuicideNote: Feel like this subreddit should be called /r/MidwestPotluckGifRecipes
TheBlackTempestHaar: This is more of a fried crab dip.
Crab Cakes don’t have cheese.
How do you americanize an american dish?
WalletPhoneKeysPump: Sorry but I need help when it comes to frying foods. Quite a few recipes on this subreddit calls for frying, but I struggle with cooking without burning the food and splashing of the oil EVERYWHERE.
Is there a specific temperature I want to keep the oil? Any good recommendation for what pot to use? How to keep my cooking station tidy? Not tripping the smoke alarm? xD
EDIT: Thank you all for your cooking tips on frying 101. Nothing like having control in the kitchen.
rawlingstones: literally the only required specific thing about aioli other than mayo is garlic, it’s garlic mayo. It’s not just a synonym for fancied-up mayo.
Nick-Cage: “this doesn’t look like the typical cheese overk- oh there it is”
watchguy98: Why buy the most expensive crab meat when you’re going to destroy it during the mixing process? Either buy non-lump crab meat or combine all other ingredients together and lightly toss in the crab meat to preserve the lump.
flyinhyphy: i think id prefer this with a pico de gallo dip or something lighter than more fucking mayo.
Thatchers-Gold: What’s “old bay”?
SwoleFlex_MuscleNeck: “make aoli”
“Mayo”
Fuck you
Professor3429: I might try these without the cheese, because you know, it’s CRAB and cheese has no place here.
DeathStarJedi: As a life long resident of Baltimore, here are my thoughts:
A. These are called “crab balls”, not “crab cake poppers”.
B. WTF are they doing with the cream cheese and shredded mozzarella???
C. Remove the garlic and add mustard.
spleen1138: I’d like to give that a try in an air fryer.
Dispari_Scuro: Seems pretty good. Is there a recipe for exact quantities?
Lebbbby: So crab cakes… just smaller. Such brilliance, so ethereal, I can barely contain my exuberance.
JordyNecroman: i’m skeptical on all that cheese in there. maybe a smaller amount of a dry cheese rather than mozzarella?
tehjoenas: “Honey, on the way home can you stop by the store and pick up some worshrshr sauce?”
djazzie: Too much filler. Not enough Old Bay.
asshleeangeline: Omg… mouth watering
Aksfsc: It *was* lump crab meat before it was obliterated and smothered with cheese. I don’t like this!
Painfulprawna1: I have been wanting something like this for a few days now and this only makes the craving stronger. I can’t wait to try it.
Lifeaslauryn: Cake pops
StoryOfLaverna: i never knew i needed it but now i do.
ijohno: Is salt n pepper really needed if old bay seasoning is already added? I mean, the flavor palate for old bay is pretty intense already
maddsskills: Weird question, but for a cheaper version could you use canned tuna? It seems like a waste of lump crab IMO.
Scos104: *Remember to pick through your crab meat
potatoMCfatass: Why is in these recipes always these panko breadcrumps? Is there something special about it?
prettybadmccree: Those babies belong in a deep fryer and you know it
iveo83: These look yummy but holy shit these would be expensive. I live in the Northeast and even being close to the coast lump crab meat is really pricey. My guess this dish would cost $80+
Okie_Doke_Tendies: Wow these look incredible. Im gonna give it a try this weekend! How much of each ingredient would you say you use?
jonstern: Add all the ingredients together before adding the crab. Then add the crab at the end and just fold together carefully. That way, you’ll have more big pieces of crab. If you’re just mashing it all together, you don’t need expensive lump crab, just get the claw meat and save yourself some money. It will taste exactly the same.
pork_N_chop: This is the kind of food I’d love to make for friends…if I had any
feedmedammit: The crab cake recipe from Cooking Light is the way to go
Emotionallyunstable8: All the recipes in here: add cheese and then more cheese
JFreedom14: Popplers?
gogetgriff: So the crab mix is basically the same as the dipping sauce??
bohdiii: *heavy breathing*
zamfire: Can one substitute chicken for the crab and get a similar taste?
mike_pants: I am currently on the tail end of a week of juice cleanse. I should have blocked this sub. God damnit.
Mcfinley: Needs more Old Bay. And for the love of god, cut the cheese!
viperex: Someone out there must have a substitute for mayo
stitcherx: Shittygifrecipes in 3…2…1…
sukkerfri69: Oh, just eat handfulls of cheese then.
WhirlingDervishes: Came to see this get berrated in the comments. Not disappointed.
Ohsojme: Oh that sounds good.
Lump crab meat . . . I’m out!
Forgot I don’t live near water.
MissFunkyH: That’s 30$ of crab meat right there
kindamaybenot: More fried cheese. Every recipe….
